Manjushri Pal Chatterjee’s life journey is a beautiful blend of resilience, compassion, learning, and self discovery. Growing up in mining towns across India because of her father’s transferable job with ACC, she spent her childhood surrounded by nature and close knit communities. Living in remote parts of the country taught her how to connect deeply with people, adapt to new environments, and appreciate simple living.
Frequent relocations also helped her learn multiple Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, and Marathi. These experiences shaped her open minded personality and strengthened her ability to build relationships effortlessly.
Early Marriage and the Search for Identity
Manjushri moved to Kolkata for college, but her education was interrupted after she got married early in life. Even then, her passion for learning and teaching never faded. She worked as a Montessori teacher and continued balancing family responsibilities with her personal interests.
As a mother of three children, including two adopted daughters, she dedicated years to nurturing her family while quietly discovering her own strengths. Her life was filled with responsibilities, but also with a deep desire to understand people, emotions, and the human mind.
Discovering Reiki and a New Purpose
A turning point came in 2010 while living in Hyderabad, when Manjushri was introduced to Reiki, an alternative healing practice focused on energy and emotional wellbeing. What started as curiosity soon became a lifelong calling.
Over the next 16 years, she became a Reiki Grandmaster, meditation teacher, certified numerologist, and even an animal whisperer. Through her healing work, she learned how emotional wellbeing, thoughts, and mental attitudes can deeply influence physical health.
Today, she teaches Reiki and meditation through both online and offline sessions while also conducting spoken English classes and numerology consultations.
A Mother’s Determination and a Story of Hope
One of the most emotional chapters of her life revolves around her adopted daughter, who was diagnosed with severe visual impairment as a child. Doctors had suggested that she might never study beyond Class 4 and recommended rehabilitation support.
However, Manjushri and her husband chose a different path. They believed in treating their daughter like any other child and focused on encouragement rather than limitations. Despite academic struggles in the early years, they supported her patiently and ensured she lived a normal, confident life.
This experience strengthened Manjushri’s belief that healing begins with mindset, love, patience, and faith.
Reinventing Life After 50
At 54, Manjushri continues to explore new passions. She fulfilled her childhood dream of acting by completing an acting course in Kolkata and participating in a Bengali comedy serial after the age of 50.
She also enjoys writing, dancing, singing, reading, and exploring Indian mythology. For her, life after 50 is not about slowing down, but rediscovering oneself.
Finding Community Through Marzi
After relocating to Bengaluru, Manjushri discovered the vibrant community of “Marzi by Primus.” She was drawn to the platform because it celebrates connection, growth, and meaningful engagement for people above 50.
Through Marzi, she found a space where people can share experiences, pursue passions, and embrace a second innings filled with purpose and joy.
Manjushri’s story reminds us that age is never a barrier to learning, healing, or dreaming again.
