Ramayana Talks: Ravana Edition

Most of us encounter Ravana through a single lens: the antagonist of the Ramayana.

But across retellings, traditions, and interpretations, Ravana emerges as a far more complex figure. A powerful king, a gifted scholar, a devoted worshipper of Shiva, a formidable warrior, and a man whose strengths and weaknesses existed side by side.

This session invites us to look beyond the familiar image of the ten-headed king and explore the many dimensions of his character.

Through stories, reflection, and discussion, we will examine the choices he made, the ambitions that drove him, the values he upheld, and the flaws that ultimately shaped his destiny.

Not to decide whether Ravana was good or evil, but to explore what his story reveals about power, desire, ego, devotion, leadership, and the contradictions that exist within all human beings.
