A guided meetup for 50+ where the best conversations begin where agreement ends
Some of the most important things you have ever thought you have never said out loud. Not because they were wrong. But because the right room never came along. Agree to Disagree is Marzi's most intellectually alive evening a guided debate and discussion circle where a small group of people come together to do something most social settings actively discourage think out loud, push back respectfully, and explore the kind of questions that do not have clean answers but deserve to be asked anyway. No expertise needed. No debating experience required. No pressure to be articulate or polished or certain. The only thing you need to bring into this room is a perspective — and at this stage of life, you have more of those than you realise. This experience is designed exclusively for the 50+ generation kept small, warmly hosted, and structured just enough to keep the conversation sharp without ever letting it feel like a competition. Because the goal here is never to win. It is to think better, together. Agree to Disagree fills up fast and the people who come once almost always come back for the next round.
In the session, you will
Be welcomed into a warm setting that signals from the very first moment this is a different kind of evening
Ease into the circle through a gentle opener before the first topic is introduced
Engage with guided prompts designed to surface real opinion, honest reflection, and genuine debate
Share your perspective, defend your position, or completely change your mind all three are equally valid here
Listen to viewpoints from people at the same chapter of life who see it entirely differently and find that just as valuable
Walk away from a disagreement feeling more connected to the person you disagreed with than when you started
A dedicated Marzi host guides the entire evening keeping the debate sharp, the space safe, and the conversation always worth having.
Topic: Should euthanasia be legalized?
How the evening flows
Arrival & settling in
Walk in, find your seat, and feel the room set its tone. This is not a lecture hall, and it is not a boardroom. It is something better, a group of people ready to think out loud together. Opening the floor
A warm, guided introduction eases the group into the space. The topic is introduced. Opinions begin to form. The room starts to lean in. Round one guided debate
The first prompt drops and the evening find its voice. Guided discussion takes the group from surface opinion into the kind of honest, layered exchange that most conversations never reach. This is where things get interesting.
Round two open floor The structure steps back and the debate takes on a life of its own. Perspectives collide, stories surface, and something shifts in the room — the quiet realisation that a good disagreement understood is worth more than a hundred easy agreements.
Closing reflection
A warm, intentional close that gives everyone a moment to sit with what the evening brought up. Not to resolve. Not to conclude. Just to appreciate how much richer the view looks from someone else's side of it.
By the end of the evening, you will,
Leave thinking differently than when you arrived not because someone changed your mind, but because someone showed you a side of the question you had not considered. You will feel intellectually alive, genuinely heard, and quietly grateful for a room that made disagreement feels like the most respectful thing two people can do for each other. The best conversations do not end when the evening does. They follow you home.
A note before you join
Agree to Disagree is a respectful, open, and non-judgmental space. Every opinion is welcome. Every perspective is valid. The only ground rule is that we disagree with ideas never with people. If you have any questions about the format or what to expect, please reach out to the Marzi team before the evening. We want you to arrive feeling curious, comfortable, and ready to think out loud.
You do not have to agree. You just have to show up. The rest takes care of itself.
