THIS LIFE IS ENOUGH

Shashi Prabha's Story
This life is enough,
isn’t it?
To wake, to breathe,
to feel the quiet rise of another day.
To taste the food you love,
to rest beneath a steady roof,
to wrap yourself in warmth and colour,
to walk with shoes that guard your steps,
to move, to earn, to belong,
even if only to a few.
Isn’t it enough
to be held by small mercies like these?
And yet
why do hands that have enough
still reach to take more?
Why do minds, rich with life,
weave schemes to wound another?
What do we gather
from breaking what was whole?
Somewhere, fear grows louder than gratitude.
Somewhere, “more” drowns out “enough.”
And in that restless hunger,
peace is traded for power,
and lives are counted as losses.
Wars are not born
from the hearts that simply wish to live,
but from shadows of control,
from borders drawn in restless minds.
And still,
the ordinary soul only longs
for what you named so gently:
a meal, a shelter, a moment of love,
a quiet breath without fear.
So hold on to this knowing
that life, in its simplest form,
is already a quiet miracle.
Let others chase storms if they must.
Be the one who remembers the sky.
This life is enough
if only we choose to see it.
